Set against the Bottelary Hills, Hazendal Wine Estate invites couples to celebrate Valentine’s Day at the Estate’s thoughtfully reimagined public spaces.

For this year’s programme, Michelin-starred chef Phil Carmichael presents a collection of Valentine’s offerings defined by precision, creativity, and expressive flavour. Each experience reflects a commitment to detail and a sense of occasion, bringing a distinctive culinary voice to the special day.
Couples are invited to choose from a beautifully prepared picnic basket with a bottle of MCC, enjoyed in the gardens designed by renowned landscaper Leon Kluge, with 1950s Hollywood-inspired entertainment; a refined afternoon tea at Mark’s, accompanied by carefully selected entertainment that enhances the romantic energy of the day; or a five-course dining experience at Siyalima, welcomed with a glass of MCC and a Valentine’s menu crafted to linger on the palate. Each experience is available for lunch and dinner.

Guests are invited to enhance the celebration with an optional couple’s treatments at Hazendal Spa, with extended hours at Wonderdal ensuring younger guests are equally cared for.

Stables is the perfect setting for a memorable Valentine’s dinner, with live music creating a warm, romantic atmosphere.

Celebrate the weekend with special dishes including a Greek watermelon salad, grilled lamb cutlets with basil mash and baby farm vegetables, and a decadent black cherry tart tatin with dark chocolate parfait to end on a sweet note.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with an elegant sunset picnic in our Rose Garden. On arrival, enjoy a glass of MMV Cap Classique and canapés before settling in at beautifully styled picnic tables and chairs for a relaxed yet refined outdoor dining experience. Soft live music sets the tone as you enjoy a thoughtfully curated romantic picnic basket for 2, finishing with decadent pavlova and hot coffee under the evening sky.

The Cellars-Hohenort Hotel & Spa invites couples to celebrate Valentine’s Day with an unforgettable dining experience in the heart of the lush Constantia Valley. On Saturday 14 February 2026, guests will be welcomed to an intimate Valentine’s Dinner in the elegant Greenhouse venue, beginning at 18h30 (R1 295 per person).

Curated by Head Chef Daniel Blignaut, the evening will unfold as a sharing menu for two, celebrating love through flavour, generosity and connection. The menu draws inspiration from South Africa’s diverse culinary landscape, showcasing local ingredients and bold, comforting flavours designed to be enjoyed together.

Guests will be welcomed with a glass of bubbles to begin, setting the tone for a romantic journey through thoughtfully crafted courses. The dining experience opens with Baked & Buttered, featuring freshly prepared roosterkoek, mosbolletjie and braaibroodtjie. The menu then moves to Atlantic, with highlights including marinated prawns with Cape Malay vinaigrette, grilled line fish, and stuffed squid paired.

From the coast, the journey continues inland to Karoo, where guests can enjoy an ostrich bobotie spring roll, lamb kofta with spiced tomato and onion relish, and roasted butternut. A fragrant lavender lemonade palate cleanser refreshes the senses before the next course.

Inspired by the vast interior landscapes, Kalahari presents springbok kebab, confit quail with crispy sorghum, matlebekwane steamed dumplings in a comforting vegetable stew, and corn ribs glazed with honey butter and whipped cream cheese.

The evening concludes with Sweet Ending, a duo of desserts designed for sharing: strawberry and chocolate panna cotta, served alongside peaches and cream with peach mille-feuille, chocolate, chantilly cream and vanilla-honey ice cream.

Surrounded by the beauty of The Cellars-Hohenort’s gardens and paired with warm hospitality, this Valentine’s Dinner promises an evening of romance, indulgence and shared moments to savour.
