Women's Day Sip & Paint at The President Hotel
Women's Day Sip & Paint at The President Hotel
This Women's Day, Saturday, 9 August, The President Hotel is hosting an intimate afternoon of creativity, conversation and delicious treats. The afternoon begins with a welcome drink before settling into the hotel's warm, inviting Botany Café for a painting session.
The culinary experience centres around a beautifully curated high tea featuring locally sourced ingredients. Savoury highlights include delicate finger sandwiches with smoked egg mayo and truffle oil, alongside roasted chicken with tarragon aioli. The innovative potato nest topped with salmon mousse, spiced cucumber pickle and orange gel offers a contemporary twist on traditional high tea fare.
For those with a sweet tooth, the selection includes fresh buttermilk scones with Chantilly cream and strawberry jam, individual carrot cakes with cream cheese frosting, and milk tart choux puffs with cinnamon craquelin. The lime cheesecake with lime curd provides a refreshing finish to the meal.
The menu showcases the best of South African flavours while maintaining that special high tea elegance. Each item tells a story, from the locally-inspired panipuri with mebos chicken to the reimagined milk tart dessert.
At R495 per person, the experience includes the painting session, welcome drink and complete high tea service with herbal teas. The three-hour event allows plenty of time to enjoy both the food and the creative process.
Bookings are essential and can be made via WhatsApp 071 368 9529 or email bookings@presidenthotel.co.za.

LAMTA’s Noises Off - 28 August - 14 September
LAMTA’s Noises Off - 28 August - 14 September
LAMTA’s Noises Off - R180 - R300
Called “the funniest farce ever written”, “Noises Off” is a classic play written by Michael Frayn that offers a hilarious glimpse behind the scenes of a theatrical production.
The play-within-a-play presents a series of comedic mishaps and misunderstandings as a cast attempts to stage a farce with a mix of acting talent, two weeks of rehearsals and all that can go wrong, going wrong…. and for some reason a plate of sardines that never knows where to be!

Cape Ballet Africa's SALT - 17 - 27 September 2025
Cape Ballet Africa's SALT - 17 - 27 September 2025
Cape Ballet Africa’s SALT - R350 - R400
SALT features a triple bill of ballets by Kirsten Isenberg, multi award-winning choreographer Mthuthuzeli November and Michelle Reid.
SALT resonates on many levels in our daily existence. It flavours, purifies, heals, and preserves. Salt has significance in ancient rituals, warding off evil, keeping us safe and inspiring us to a higher spiritual realm.
These three ballets are poignant, sleek, stylish, celebratory and percussive. Expect strong athletic pointe work, gravity-defying pas de deux, and beautifully articulated bodies in motion.
