This long weekend, we’re opening our gardens and our table for four days of fresh air, family time and easy, lingering moments from Friday 3 April to Monday 6 April.

Our kids Easter Egg Hunt takes place in the gardens daily at 11:00. Little explorers search for five hidden carrots and swap them for a special kiddies Easter surprise hamper | R250 per child.

For the grown ups, settle in for Easter feasting at The Manor. Choose 2 courses (R380) or 3 courses (R465), including a complimentary glass of Anchorman Old Vine Chenin Blanc.

Prefer something more relaxed? Go for sharing platters or our signature picnics on the lawns.

Journey to our underground wine tunnel to savour Babylonstoren’s finest wines. Our cellar tour starts in the vineyards above ground, where vines from various styles are cultivated. From there, we venture into the working cellar with its array of wine-producing vessels, from amphorae clay pots to open cement fermenters and concrete eggs. The tour concludes with a master tasting of our finest wines, paired with farm-grown and handmade delicacies. 

Babylonstoren was voted the best Innovative Wine Tourism Experience in the country in 2022 by the Best of Wine Tourism Awards.

Please note this is a walking tour and it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.  Regrettably, the Cellar Tour isn't accessible for wheelchairs.

Our garden and surrounding landscape lend themselves to the expression of beauty and joy in a multitude of ways. To this end, we host events on the farm to celebrate seasonal milestones and calendar highlights. Events are generally hosted by our team, sometimes in conjunction with experts in the field. Start with warm hot cross bun brioche and pâtés, linger over the mains, and finish with something sweet from our indulgent dessert table.

While the adults relax with a glass of Baccō, the little ones will be entertained with face painting, a jumping castle and fun kids’ activities running all weekend.

As the long summer days begin to soften into golden evenings, Nederburg invites you to linger a little longer and experience something truly special — our new “Under the Stars” evening picnics. This December, on three unforgettable nights, the farm will open its lawns after sunset for a series of relaxed, music-filled evenings that capture the easy magic of a South African summer.

Picture it: the sun dipping behind the mountains, soft music in the background, laughter carrying through the warm air. You’re stretched out on a blanket beneath the trees, a glass of Nederburg wine in hand, the scent of summer herbs mingling with freshly cut grass. It’s laid-back, beautiful, and unmistakably Nederburg — where hospitality and heart meet under the night sky.

Each picnic basket is thoughtfully curated to showcase local, seasonal flavours — a true taste of the Cape Winelands. Expect a feast that begins with local cheeses, marinated olives, and seasonal fruit, paired with house-made onion marmalade and crisp lavash. Enjoy artisanal bread with whipped butter, smoked trout pâté, and grilled free-range chicken in a velvety coronation sauce with almonds and apricots. Rustic baby potato salad, pickled beetroot with creamy feta, and a fresh garden salad round off the savoury selection. To finish, indulge in classic South African milk tart and peppermint crisp tart, both as nostalgic as they are delicious.

The experience is open to everyone — couples looking for a romantic night out, families wanting to make the most of the holidays, and friends simply seeking a beautiful evening together. The expansive lawns provide plenty of space for kids to play, and well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome too. Bring your own blanket or low chairs, find your spot beneath the stars, and let the evening unfold.
