Our pastry chef, Marinèsha, is able to bake according to guest’s requests – be it tarts, cupcakes, etc.

Our ‘Dinner’ of Discovery Experience is curated to heighten and dull different senses for a better understanding of how we perceive wine, food and flavours. In this immersive and one-of-a-kind epicurean experience, you will taste your way through a 3-course canapé-style food and wine pairing, first blindfolded, and then sighted.

To add an extra dimension to the experience, the second and third courses are presented not only unseen, but also with the addition of evocative sounds, creating a truly emotive and personal experience where your imagination is allowed free reign.

How it works:

The tasting consists of three canapé-style pairings, each presented twice and paired with some of our most celebrated wines at R550pp.

The ‘Dinner’ of Discovery Experience is offered at 11:00 and 15:00 every day, except Tuesdays.

Pre-booking is essential and a minimum of four guests are required per booking.

The next wine in Babylonstoren’s Wine Club Botanical Collection will be released soon, just in time for winter. An Italian stallion, the Barbera is a smooth, succulent wine with vibrant acidity. It’s the second in the Babylonstoren Botanical Collection of four, to be released throughout 2024.   

This winter, visitors can look forward to a brand-new experience by Babylonstoren at the craft farm of Soetmelksvlei. This new excursion by Babylonstoren celebrates the artisan spirit of a 19th century farmyard. Guests can immerse themselves in the immaculately recreated interiors of the Farmhouse and Gardener’s Cottage, take in the sights, tools and techniques of a bygone era in the Old Cellar, Distillery, Mill and Workshop, or attend one of the hands-on workshops.  

After working up an appetite, indulge in hearty farm fare in the Old Stables Restaurant. Remember to pop into the Jonkershuis Farm Shop for beautifully crafted keepsakes and treats. 

Bookings for excursions to Soetmelksvlei are essential. Guests are to check in at the Babylonstoren ticket office.
