The Romance Basket is a curated gourmet experience designed for two, perfectly capturing the spirit of the month of love. The ultimate treat for couples seeking a refined escape, our selection of artisanal delicacies and decadent sweets provides a sophisticated backdrop for a Valentine’s celebration under the open sky.

Available exclusively as a limited-time offering for the month of February, this basket invites you to slow down and savour the beauty of Benguela Cove with someone special.

The Romance Menu:

• Bakery: Freshly baked ciabatta and savoury cheese straws.
• Accompaniments: Marinated olives, red pepper butter, and preserves.
• Savoury Selection: Sundried tomato pesto pasta salad, beef biltong, and dry wors.
• Deli Board: Two artisanal cheeses and two speciality cold meats.
• Dessert: Macarons, Red Velvet brownies, and chocolate-coated strawberries. 

Running throughout February, the Sunset Dinner Series continues every Wednesday and Thursday evening until 26 March. With two sittings at 17:30 and 19:30, these dinners invite guests to linger over seasonal dishes while enjoying sweeping sunset views as the sun dips behind the vineyards.

Wine lovers can look forward to Syrah Day on 16 February, as Brookdale Estate celebrates one of its signature varietals. Guests are encouraged to visit the Tasting Room Tuesdays to Sundays to discover the elegance of the 2024 Mason Road Syrah. The wine was awarded 4- stars in the 2025 Platter’s by Diners Club South African Wine Guide - a proud achievement for the Brookdale winemaking team and a standout expression of the varietal.

Romance takes centre stage on Saturday 14 February with Valentine’s Day at The Bistro. The a la carte Summer Menu will be served for both lunch and dinner, accompanied by a complimentary glass of Mason Road Serendipity rosé. For dinner, live music by Leigh Hondy will set the mood, creating a memorable evening for couples to celebrate together.
