This unique exhibition space within the beauty of the Cape vines offers the latitude for emerging artists, creative collaborations, and a glimpse into the Eastern European culture.

Contemporary artworks rub shoulders with the owners’ extensive private collections and sculptures. Visitors will encounter artworks throughout the farm such as in the Homestead, which boasts Cape Dutch Style influences, and South African Master Artists such as Pierneef, Tretchikoff, and George Pemba, as well as prominent South African sculptors found throughout the gardens such as Angus Taylor, Guy du Toit, and Strijdom Van der Merwe.

Art Walk: 

The Marvol Gallery art walk begins with a dive into the rich history of Hazendal Wine Estate and then highlights the artworks, many of which are scattered across the farm. There are South African masters and Soviet realists, landscape sculptures and original Cape Dutch furniture, and of course contemporary artists to be discovered with the Marvol Gallery team.

Take a journey into automotive history with Hazendal’s Classic Car Collection. Housed in a striking purpose-built venue, which is also available for private hire, the Collection showcases a selection of rare and exceptional vintage automobiles.

Hire the pavilion:

The Classic Car pavilion is available for private hire, offering a dramatic backdrop for product launches, corporate gatherings, fashion shoots and bespoke events. For weddings and photography, selected vehicles are available for charter-hire on the estate. On request the Pavilion can be dry-hired, with the vehicles removed, allowing the eye-catching steel and glass architecture to create a memorable backdrop for events and functions.

The Manor wine tastings and pairings let you taste, learn and discover a wonderful world of flavour. Try one of the following experiences by pre-booking:

• The Manor Wine Tasting (+-30 minutes) - Choose five wines to taste from a regularly changing list of Nederburg wines, at R75 per person.
• The Brew Tasting (+-45 minutes) - A selection of wines with single-origin and blended coffees as well as small food items (a first of its kind, as far as we know), at R165 per person.
• Heritage Heroes Canapé & Wine Pairing (+-45 minutes) - Three delicious canapés paired with Nederburg’s Heritage Heroes collection of award-winning wines (The Anchor Man Old Vine Chenin Blanc, The Brew Master Bordeaux-style red blend and The Motorcycle Marvel Rhône-styled red blend). • ‘Dinner’ of Discovery Experience (+-60 minutes) - Taste your way through a three-course canapé-style food and wine pairing, first served blind-folded and then sighted. The sensory journey begins with a citrus-infused welcome cocktail made with the estate’s own spirit aperitif while enjoying a tour of the cellar hosted by one of our skilled Wine Ambassadors. Next, step into the underground Wine Library for a complete tasting of carefully selected estate wines from Hazendal’s current wine portfolio and vintage wine library, each perfectly paired with a flavour-packed micro-plate.

Served in a striking ceramic and glass tower, each micro-plate has been carefully curated to offer the perfect foil for our finely crafted estate wines.

The walking tour starts with a visit to our balsamic vinegar cellar, where guests will gain insight into the traditional methods and production processes used to create our DOP-style vinegar, and taste both our three-year-old and twelve-year-old balsamic vinegars.

This is followed by a behind-the-scenes look at how Babylonstoren’s table olives are made in our olive production plant and sample the varieties on offer. After the tasting, the process of transforming olives into golden olive oil in our cold press process is explained in the olive press. Finally, it’s time to taste our olive oils. Guests can create their own 100ml blend of the different oils to take home as a small keepsake.
