Moody Lagoon at Benguela Cove is set in the heart of the Benguela Cove winery complex. The restaurant is a beautiful contemporary space adorned with artwork and chandeliers, offering expansive views of the lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. Open daily for lunch all year round and for dinner only during the Christmas period, you can expect a gourmet experience with log fires in the winter and stunning lagoon views in the summer.
Moody Lagoon showcases the best in South African cookery, featuring beautifully presented French-influenced dishes made from the freshest local ingredients. The menu offers gourmet wine and food pairing options as well as fish and chips for those preferring something more casual.
Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate ranked No. 53 in the World's Best Vineyards, is also open for vineyard tours, pontoon trips, cellar tours, and wine tastings. The Tasting Room offers amazing wine and food pairing experiences. Wines are sold at cellar door prices.
Who's Cooking?

Chef Annelie Badenhorst
Chef Annelie Badenhorst hails from the beautiful Otjiwarongo in Namibia. Annie’s training in classic French cooking at the Zevenwacht Chef School, combined with her love of comfort food, makes her the perfect fit for Benguela Cove’s restaurant.
Annie’s career has been very intertwined with that of our other Benguela Dining chefs, namely executive Chef Jean Delport at Restaurant Interlude in the United Kingdom.
Annie worked at All Things Culinary and thereafter at Sophia’s Restaurant at Morgenster Wine and Olive Estate.

The King Price Race to the Sea 2025 offers two distinct challenges, each promising a unique and rewarding experience. Join us for the fourth year of celebrating unforgettable cycling adventures.
The 100 Mile Journey: Franschhoek to Hermanus- Begin at the iconic Huguenot Memorial Monument in Franschhoek.
- Traverse 164 kilometres (100 miles) of diverse terrain, including gravel, asphalt, and single track. Finish at Benguela Cove Wine Estate, where a well-deserved celebration awaits.
This route promises a test of endurance and skill, rewarding riders with panoramic views and a sense of accomplishment.
The 50 Mile Journey: The Halfway Challenge- Why not challenge yourself to a new 50-mile option, perfect for riders aged 15 and above.
- Start at the Halfway Point of the 100-mile route. Cover 82 kilometres with 1444 metres of elevation gain.
This option opens the event to a wider range of participants, offering a challenging yet achievable goal.

About the Artist: Yiull Damaso:
Yiull, an artist from South Africa's Western Cape, creates across diverse mediums, from vibrant oil paintings to sculpture, custom motorbikes, jewellery, and eyewear. Best known for his thought-provoking Mandela portraits, Yiull’s work has garnered global attention, featured in The New York Times and BBC. With murals in cities worldwide and collections in luxury spaces, his art continues to inspire and challenge, leaving a lasting impact on contemporary art.
