The Pavilion:

With edgy black-and-white decor, the main attraction of the restaurant’s interior is the glass wine cellar, stocked with top South African wines; looking outside, the restaurant overlooks the cliffs of Hermanus and the surrounding area.

The Pavilion serves breakfast with an incredible spread of fresh fruit and freshly baked patisserie confections are laid out each morning, and hot breakfast options are served à la carte.

The soulful lunch and dinner menus highlights ‘everyday’ favourites. Our Head Chef showcases the impressive bounty of the Overberg, ensuring that the focus is always on local flavours and fresh ingredients.

Whether you feel like a quick bite or a leisurely dining experience, you will find it at the Pavilion. Starters focus on fresh seafood, followed by section dedicated to a variety of fresh, healthy salads. Main courses have something for everyone, from Beef Fillet Steak, Grilled Catch of the day to a beautiful selection of Vegan dishes – with each ingredient reflecting our surroundings. Rounding off the menu are a selection of mouth-watering desserts and artisanal cheeses of the region.


The Sun Lounge:

Overlooking Walker Bay, The Sun Lounge at The Marine in Hermanus is the ideal spot to enjoy drinks and snacks while searching the waters for resident and visiting marine life.
The warm and inviting colour scheme here will not only tempt guests and visitors alike, but also provides a comfortable setting to while away a few hours.

The relaxed sophistication of The Sun Lounge is complemented by the wide variety of South African wines, sparkling wines, signature cocktails and delectable eats. A visit to The Sun Lounge is ideal for afternoon tea or early-evening drinks, enjoyed with the views of the surrounding cliffs and bay.

Oelof joined The Marine as Head Chef in 2022. With a diploma in culinary arts and professional cooking, he brings nine years of experience as a chef. His recent three-year tenure at Leeu Estates’ Le Chêne Restaurant follows valuable stints at La Petite Colombe, Pierneef Restaurant la Motte and Jordan Restaurant.

Oelof’s dedication to his craft, combined with his passion for upskilling and developing his team, has elevated the culinary experience at The Marine.
