The Rocky Horror Show Is Back at Theatre on the Bay by Popular Demand

12 September 2026

  • The Rocky Horror Show Returns by Popular Demand, Opening in August 2026 at Theatre on the Bay

Following a completely sold-out season earlier this year, Pieter Toerien Productions and LAMTA have brought The Rocky Horror Show back to Theatre on the Bay by popular demand, with the return season running until 18 October 2026.

Pieter Toerien Productions and LAMTA's cult smash-hit musical opened its return Cape Town season on 28 August, once again unleashing its irresistible mix of rock 'n' roll, glamour, outrageous comedy and audience participation.

Directed by Steven Stead and starring Craig Urbani as the iconic Frank-'N-Furter, the production has received rave reviews and delighted audiences with its fresh, high-voltage take on Richard O'Brien's legendary musical.

First performed in 1973, The Rocky Horror Show remains one of the world's most beloved cult musicals, celebrating freedom, individuality and deliciously uninhibited fun. Packed with iconic songs including Time Warp, Sweet Transvestite and Hot Patootie – Bless My Soul, the show follows Brad and Janet after a stormy-night detour leads them to the strange world of Dr Frank-'N-Furter and his eccentric castle companions – where absolutely anything can, and does, happen.

Whether you're a devoted fan ready to dress up and shout back at the stage, or a first-timer curious to experience the phenomenon for yourself, this electrifying production promises an unforgettable night of glitter, glamour and pure escapist entertainment.

Tickets are available from R295 through Webtickets and the Theatre on the Bay box office on 021 438 3300.
