49 Rand Dishes. 15 Eateries. One Car-Free Bree Street.
27 May 2026
Cape Town’s favourite food street is going car-free again for a special winter edition of Bree Street Sundays — bringing flavour, cocktails and street-side energy back into the heart of the city.
For one Sunday only, restaurants and bars will spill out onto the pavements with street cafés, sidewalk kitchens and casual pop-up bars, serving small tasting plates and drinks from just R49.
It’s all about wandering, stopping, tasting and discovering something new as you move through Bree Street with no traffic — just good food, great drinks and a buzzing city atmosphere.
From Japanese-inspired bites and tacos to burgers, bagels, pasta and cocktails, 15 of Bree Street’s favourite venues will be taking part, each offering their own tasting experience.
Participating venues include Maru, Hacienda, Clarke’s, Nikkei, The Wes, Burger & Lobster, Nish Nush, Iron Steak, Scala, Stellski Coffee and Cafe, Max Bagels, Bare, Tomson, Noah by Charles Hope and Yatai.
Bring your appetite, gather your friends, and experience the first and final Winter Edition of Bree Street Food Sundays.
