Stuart joined the hospitality industry at the age of 16 working in some of Sandtons top hotels; the Saxon, Westcliff, Michelangelo to name a few. Stuart won the prestigious ‘Unilever Chef of the Year’ award an unprecedented 3 times; in 2002, 2004 and 2009, being one of only two chefs to ever have achieved this.
In 2008, he represented South Africa in Dubai at the MLA (Meat and Livestock Australia) Black Box Culinary Challenge, which saw 18 countries compete in a mystery basket cook off where he received a bronze medal.

Stuart joined the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group in August 2008 at the Radisson Blu Hotel Sandton. In the 4 years, with the group, he has been instrumental in assisting in the opening of 3 hotels; the Radisson Blu Hotel Port Elizabeth, the Radisson Blu Hotel Maputo and the Radisson Blu Hotel Addis Ababa.
