It's Official - The Last Elephant Scores 93 Points Again!

Franschhoek Cellar’s The Last Elephant 2019 has been rated by Tim Atkin, Master of Wine in the annual South Africa report, and has been awarded a consecutive 93 points.
This exclusive red blend is made from the best batches the winery produces each year and has received a string of outstanding scores and accolades since its maiden release in 2015. This small-production wine from Franschhoek Cellar was crafted as a tribute to the last elephant seen leaving the Valley in the late 19th century, and true to its namesake, the wine is consistently excellent, grounded in superb winemaking – and stands out from the herd.
This beautiful Bordeaux style red blend has complex flavours of moreish dark berry fruit with aromas of cedar wood, lead pencil and cigar box – rounded together by a bold structure and fine tannins – this wine lives up to the mystical legacy of the gentle giants that once roamed the Franschhoek Valley.
