Creation Wines Celebrates Top 10 Global Placement in the 2025 World’s 50 Best Vineyards
28 November 2025
Creation Wines, located in the breathtaking Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge near Hermanus in the Western Cape, proudly announces its recognition as the 7th best vineyard in the world and 2nd in Africa at the 2025 World’s 50 Best Vineyards awards. This achievement marks another milestone in Creation’s journey of innovation, sustainability and guest experience, while reaffirming South Africa’s standing as a world-class wine destination.
‘It’s an honour to be named among the best, and our “lucky number” 7 this year inspires us to keep innovating and striving for excellence,’ says Carolyn Martin, Creation’s Co-founder and Marketing Director. ‘We also congratulate Klein Constantia on their 6th place ranking and recognition as Africa’s Best Vineyard and Highest Climber – a powerful reflection of the dynamism of South African wine on the global stage.’
Judging Methodology
The World’s 50 Best Vineyards are determined by a global academy of more than 500 leading wine, hospitality and travel experts. Each nominated estate is evaluated across a range of criteria, including the overall visitor experience, ambience, scenery, gastronomy, service, sustainability practices, and international reputation. The results represent the collective insights of a broad panel, ensuring a diverse and rigorous assessment of each destination’s ability to deliver exceptional wine tourism experiences.
A Commitment to Innovation, Sustainability, and Community
Creation’s continuous evolution is rooted in its dedication to sustainability – championing regenerative agriculture, wellness, and local sourcing. Thanks to its hyper-local culinary philosophy and partnerships with scientists, nutritionists and artisans, the estate delivers immersive wine experiences that celebrate the region’s natural bounty.
Long-standing support for initiatives such as the Pebbles Project, along with a focus on mentoring and career development for local talent, reflects Creation’s holistic, community-first ethos.
‘Memorable wine, food, and hospitality come from fostering genuine connections – to our land, our people, and our community,’ says Carolyn. ‘Our sensorial menus, dynamic tasting journeys, and collaborations with local producers and artists offer guests an authentic expression of terroir and a true sense of place.’
Celebrating Global Excellence
Creation also celebrates the achievements of its peers around the world, including VIK in Millahue, Chile, which received the title of World’s Best Vineyard for 2025. Their dedication to pushing boundaries continues to inspire the global wine community.
With several other South African estates recognised in the Top 100, including Hamilton Russell (99), La Motte (94), Delaire Graff (79) and Tokara (71), this year’s results reaffirm the country’s world-class reputation – driven by the passion and commitment of its winemakers, teams, and communities. These accolades serve not only as recognition but also as encouragement for continual creativity, excellence, and impact.
Creation warmly invites vineyard partners worldwide to join us in shaping the future of wine tourism through shared innovation, passion, and collaboration.
