Capsicum Culinary Studio Open Days this month - A career in food may change your life!

Looking for a job locally or globally? What should you study to have the best chance of employment after you’ve completed your course? One field that is proving to be a good career choice is the culinary industry.
It's a well-known fact that the food and hospitality field is one of the fastest growing industries, both at home and abroad, with the opportunity to work in a myriad of different roles, including restaurants, hotels, resorts, cruise liners, catering companies and corporate or private events. Some graduates even go on to set up their own catering business, become private chefs or invest in a food truck!
South Africa’s largest chef school, Capsicum Culinary Studio, is hosting two Open Days this month at its seven campuses countrywide. These take place on Saturday, May 10 and 24, from 9h00 to 12h00 and is aimed at those who want to enrol in the school’s next intake in July or in February, 2026.
Open Day attendees can interact with the schools’ talented chef lecturers, all of whom are leaders in the culinary field, as well as chat to expert advisors who will assist in making their hospitality dreams come true.
Capsicum’s range of courses include: A one-year Professional Chef Programme (full or part-time); a one-year Professional Patisserie Programme; a three-year Advanced Professional Chef Programme: a Foundational Cookery Programme; an Assistant Baker Skills Programme; a combination Professional Chef and Pastry Programme; and a combination Foundational Cookery and Assistant Baker Skills Programme.
Capsicum Culinary Studio courses offer international certification through City and Guilds and are nationally accredited with CATHSSETA and the QCTO, attributing to their alumni making their mark throughout the world. Capsicum Culinary Studio has a partnership with The Swiss Education Group (SEG) and is a member of The South African Chefs Association, and by extension The World Association of Chefs Societies, exposing learners to international standards and opportunities.
Since it was established in 2003, Capsicum Culinary Studio has produced over 8 500 alumni, many of whom are now working in top positions and at leading institutions all over the world. Employers range from acclaimed restaurateurs to large multi-national hotels, cruise liners and resorts. Others have taken the entrepreneurial route and established their own hospitality-inspired businesses and consultancies.
