Beluga Was Honoured To Be Chosen As The Preferred Venue For The SA Concierge Forum Conference In Cape Town For 2019

07 October 2019

Needless to say, it was an absolute honour to be chosen as the preferred destination to host such an auspicious event for the South African Tourism and Hospitality Industry, namely "The South African Concierge Forum Conference 2019."

What made the event even more special was that the Cape Town Concierge Forum celebrated its 10 years of existence, which was a wonderful and opportune moment to give accolade to its very interesting history.

The founder of the South African Concierge Forum, Deon Prinsloo (Head Concierge and Guest Relations Manager for The Palazzo Hotel in Johannesburg) is a "Golden Key" bearer. This means that Deon is one of only fifteen South African members of the international “Les Clefs ‘d” or the “Society of the Golden Keys of Great Britain and the Commonwealth.”

What started as humble beginnings is now an acclaimed conference that invites Hotel Concierges and Guest Relations Managers from all over of South Africa to attend.

The conference is hosted in four major cities and is concluding its final one for 2019 at The Saxon Hotel in Johannesburg. The concept of the conference is to unite industry stakeholders to attend as individuals and then to connect and collaborate as a collective - sharing thoughts and ideas through the awesome art of networking.

It was a pleasure to observe our guests enjoy themselves as they were being served delicious dishes that we took great pride in presenting. Imagine sumptuous servings of some of our favourite sushi, as well as an array of other delectable offerings.

The presentations were world-class and the discussions surrounding the importance of the South African Tourism and Hospitality industry were highlighted and not to be taken lightly.

Both industries are essential pillars of the South African Economy, thus it was wonderful to host a collective of industry stakeholders that are passionate and dedicated to keeping South Africa and in this case particularly, Cape Town, one of the most desirable destinations in the world to visit. They continue to improve the esteem and set the standard for local travel by keeping up with and informing the industry of global trends.

It is the duty and obligation of the Hospitality and Tourism Industry to promote South Africa, the incredible and beautiful country that it is, to the rest of the world.

Despite our current social, economic and political obstacles that South Africa faces, these industries are fighting the “good fight” for South Africa. We applaud the South African Concierge Forum for its being and look forward to the next 10 years of continuing to unite such valuable game players for South Africa and its economy.

Cape Town plays a very vital role in these industries, which is why we must thank Deon again for considering Beluga as the preferred destination for this event.

As the SA Concierge Forum’s motto goes, Beluga Cape Town restaurant would like to raise a glass to the Forum as they continue to “Inspire, Share and Shine”
