  • Wine Tourism Conference Director Hans Belz

The Wine Tourism Conference (WTC) returns from 19 - 21 May 2026 at Cavalli Estate in Stellenbosch, bringing together leading wine estate owners, tourism innovators, hospitality pioneers and global industry experts.

Now in its 10th year, the conference will explore this year’s theme: “The Future of Wine Destinations - How Wine Tourism Competes, Connects and Endures.” The programme will examine how wine destinations can remain competitive, relevant and resilient in an increasingly complex global travel landscape. As wine estates evolve beyond cellar doors into fully integrated destination ecosystems, WTC 2026 will focus on practical insights, investment thinking and collaborative growth strategies.

Conference Director Hans Belz emphasises the importance of human connection at the heart of wine tourism: “Wine tourism is built on connection between people, places and stories. At WTC 2026, we are bringing together leading voices in the industry to exchange ideas, cultivate meaningful partnerships, and refine the experiences that define world-class wine destinations. We look forward to welcoming delegates to Stellenbosch for an inspiring and enriching few days.”

Set against the backdrop of the Cape Winelands, WTC 2026 will provide a dynamic platform for dialogue, innovation and cross-border collaboration; reinforcing South Africa’s position as a globally relevant wine tourism destination.
