Moyo Kirstenbosch Is Open

16 July 2020

In the face of what has been a challenging time for our industry and country, we are very pleased to announce that our doors are officially open again for sit down customers.

While so much has changed in the past few months, our majestic mountain views and warm African hospitality has not. Our fires are lit, staff have smiles on their faces and our kitchen is ready to prepare the hearty, generous food that you have come to expect from us. Our veranda seating is open, so that you can take in the scenery and fresh air all at once.

Over the last few months we have reflected on what we believe our guests will need from us both now and moving into an uncertain couple of months ahead. As a result we have taken the decision to reduce our menu offering, keeping the firm favourites, and where possible adjust portion sizes and bring pricing in line to ensure that we continue to deliver a generous, value for money dining experience. We have also introduced a few new dishes, including homemade pies with moyo flavour twists.

At moyo we have always prided ourselves on the execution of our health and safety procedures and this is no different with the introduction of the new procedures implemented due to Covid 19. The safety of our guests and staff are of paramount importance and it is with that in mind that we please request the following legislated protocols are followed when visiting us:

  • All guests are required to wear masks at all times, except for when eating and drinking.
  • We will be required to take your temperature and capture all guest details onto a register on arrival.
  • Hands will need to be sanitized before entering the restaurant.
  • Please practice social distancing with guests other than those dining together.

For the time being the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden remains closed to the public, so guests visiting us will need to use the night entrance located at Gate 1. This also means that there will be no gate entry fee charged to visit moyo Kirstenbosch until the garden opens again and that the garden can unfortunately not be visited via the store. Important to also note is that the kids play gym will remain closed until it is safe to open.

For those who understandably are not ready to venture out just yet, moyo Kirstenbosch in now available for ordering online. You can get your favourite meal for yourself or feed your family with our family sized portions, delivered directly to your door. Alternatively find us on Uber Eats.

moyo has been serving guests and proudly delivering an African experience to locals and tourists alike for over 20 years.  We plan to continue to do so for as long as we can and will greatly appreciate the support of our customers to do so.

We look forward to seeing you all again.
