The Strawberry Festival presented by Ola kicks off the school holidays on 30 September to 01 October 2017 at Redberry Farm in George with a robust family day programme. There are over 50 attractions and programme highlights to look forward to featuring music, culinary, sports and family entertainment - all centred around the icon of the event, fabulous strawberries!

Event attractions include culinary pairings for coffee and craft beer, a country market with more than 80 outdoor food and handcrafted product stalls, live artist shows by local and national Afrikaans singers including Dewald Wasserfall, Joe Foster and Majozi, 5km family fun run and 9km trail run through the strawberry fields, CrossFit competition to be named Fittest in the Garden Route, helicopter flips by Blue Sky Aviation, dance performances, vintage tractors and rides as well as a live Algoa FM Top 30 broadcast by Wayne Hart.

Sweet and sticky fun for tiny festival goers includes kids strawberry and ice cream eating competitions, rides on the Redberry Express mini train, ponies, pedal go carts, boats and bubble ball, an outdoor kids play park with inflatables such as the giant slide, a jumping castle assortment, gladiators, sumo suits, bucking bull and target shooting, face painting, bunny feeding and soft play. At the outside stage, make sure to catch the Ace Models Miss Strawberry pageant with contestants from age 6 – 17, balloon art show and Meet the Mascot.

Discovering the secrets of a strawberry is an all-day process! Visit the Strawberry Emporium where strawberries are served in a multitude of delectable ways, go strawberry picking in the fields with the majestic Outeniqua Mountains and country landscape as your backdrop, enter the Strawberry Eat Off! and stomping competitions with prizes to the value of R10,000, shop the Farm Stall filled with strawberry products and decor, order a delicious strawberry cocktail and, for the adventurous at heart, make sure to explore the largest permanent hedge maze in the Southern Hemisphere with seven secret strawberry stations!
