Wakame's breathtaking views add a unique dimension to the epicurion delights that await you. The view spreads from the old Lighthouse at Mouille Point, to the gleaming lights of Table Bay. From Whalewatching to Yacht racing or just watching the seals or dolphins frollicking in front of the restaurant, wakame's view comes out tops. Not to mention the only restaurant in Cape Town that has the best View of Robben Island.
As their other restaurants, the owners made a seating area that is comfortable & aestheticly pleasing to the eye. The fish skeleton that hangs from the sushi bar is Wakame's mascot called "Chi". Raised wooden decks with cherry inlays & green tea antiqued walls, tell a story of how the food will be behind those walls. Three metre long fish tanks that are the Bar's eyecatching feature, as well as the Cherry wood counters, are what give Wakame a beautiful warmth.
Food is a word that would be a Clich้ in this establishment. Pacific Rim blended with asian fusion & a hint of French & western influence are what hold true from the kitchen. The kitchen is a team of young innovative new chefs that have shown that they mean serious business. A few dishes are prepared days in advance to ensure quality in taste. Directions
Get onto the M3 North into Cape Town. The Highway ends at the Waterfront intersection, cross over this intersection and follow Buitengracht St to the next traffic light where you will turn right into Evard/Western Blvd. Follow Evard/Western Blvd around the traffic circle, at the next set of traffic lights turn right into Beach Rd. Follow Beach Rd past the Lighthouse on your left. You will see Wakame on the 2nd Floor at the corner of Surrey Place and Beach Rd.
