Diane Kay (Team chef)
 

Diane Kay is a graduate of the Prue Leith College of Food & Wine. Currently employed at the Western Cape Hotel & Spa under Garth Shnier, Diane is working in one of the country’s top hotels. She previously worked at Nedcor’s new head office in Sandton for Gham Gourmet, where she provided meals for the bank’s directors, maintaining a five-star experience in the eight executive dining rooms. In her short career to date, she has worked at BBQ Skewers in Sandton Square, Avianto, the Michelangelo Hotel and the Westcliff Hotel. Not only has Diane gained valuable experience at various hotels and restaurants, but she has also competed in numerous competitions.

Since 1999, she has competed in no less than eight local competitions, including the Nestle Mini-Plated Salon Culinaire (winning silver and first place in the junior section), the 2000 Jeune Commis Rotisseurs (winning first place in the Johannesburg regional finals) and the Easigas Young Chef of the Year (winning first place). She won the Goldcrest Accolades in 2001.
