The 16th Lintel Restaurant at Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel is all about bringing people together. Everything about this brand new restaurant resolves around its name. The vibe, the décor, the ideals and the food.
The original homestead had a total of 15 support lintels. Keeping true to the Dutch architecture, Mr Malan expanded the building to what Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel is today. With that expansion, he added extra lintels. The first lintel added (the 16th one) was the start of a new era. We saw it fit to name the new restaurant The 16th Lintel, as it too is the start of a new exciting era.
A lintel is seen as a strong, supporting, upholding architectural tool that strengthens a building. The brand new restaurant and the committed team at Kleinkaap also carry those traits. Both the restaurant and the personnel aims to support, uphold and strengthen its visitors and diners. The restaurant name can be seen as the true catalyst of everything about it and inside it.

Rust-en-Vrede is ideal for large conferences, product launches or presentations for up to 400 delegates. For smaller groups, Goedehoop and Vergenoeg holds from 2 up to 30 guests. As well as providing exceptional views, the windows allow in ample natural light.

As we give our bridal parties extensive use of the grounds in hand with professional experienced coordinators and staff, we have a minimum requirement of 100 guests from September to April and 80 guests from May to August. Please note there is a minimum requirement of 150 guests in November.

Chef Maveer Thulsie
Chef Maveer Thulsie cuts an imposing figure in the kitchen, even when he is not holding a knife. His introduction to the world of culinary arts began at the age of 19 working at a restaurant in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands.
Maveer struck out for the bright lights after graduating from culinary school in 2010. His culinary techniques has given him opportunity to have worked at a wide variety of restaurants including Fusion Café, Saxon Hotel Villas and Spa, Shambala Private Game Reserve, Ritz Carlton and Fancourt. He has gained great knowledge and skills from chefs like Jeffery Arbuckle, David Higgs and Regan Wilson. With this in mind, the knowledge under his belt inspired him to accomplish becoming an Executive Chef at the age of 24.
Since August 2016 he has occupied the position of Executive Chef at the 16th Lintel Restaurant @ Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel.
